NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY CELEBRATION 


Michael Job Memorial College of Education for Women celebrated National Education Day on November 11 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.



Dr .G.Victoria Naomi, Professor in Special Education, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women was the Chief Guest of the event.  She addressed the students and shared insights the importance of education in an individual’s life. She mentioned that education is a magic wand that can help us meet any challenge. Education is necessary not only because it can get us jobs or status in society but is essential as it enables us to build a new world. It is magical because it helps us rediscover ourselves. She also shared statistics on India’s Global Ranking and insisted that technological advancements can make India a better competitor globally. She pointed out that teachers and students play a vital role in building up the future of our nation. Her words were indeed very informative and thought provoking.  The speech was followed by a Q & A session and therefore extremely interactive.

The student interaction session was followed by a Faculty interaction session, wherein various subjects were discussed upon and guidance sought. Dr .G.Victoria Naomi assured that she will guide and support MJC students and faculty in getting a chance for taking up Ph.D. in Education at Avanishilingam University.

Subsequently, competitions were held around Elocution, Dance, Debate, Poetry and Skit.
