NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY CELEBRATION 


Michael Job Memorial College of Education for Women celebrated National Education Day on November 11 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.



Dr .G.Victoria Naomi, Professor in Special Education, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women was the Chief Guest of the event.  She addressed the students and shared insights the importance of education in an individual’s life. She mentioned that education is a magic wand that can help us meet any challenge. Education is necessary not only because it can get us jobs or status in society but is essential as it enables us to build a new world. It is magical because it helps us rediscover ourselves. She also shared statistics on India’s Global Ranking and insisted that technological advancements can make India a better competitor globally. She pointed out that teachers and students play a vital role in building up the future of our nation. Her words were indeed very informative and thought provoking.  The speech was followed by a Q & A session and therefore extremely interactive.

The student interaction session was followed by a Faculty interaction session, wherein various subjects were discussed upon and guidance sought. Dr .G.Victoria Naomi assured that she will guide and support MJC students and faculty in getting a chance for taking up Ph.D. in Education at Avanishilingam University.

Subsequently, competitions were held around Elocution, Dance, Debate, Poetry and Skit.

COLLEGE DAY AND FRESHERS’ DAY-2017 OF
MICHAEL JOB COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCE FOR WOMEN

Michael Job college of Arts and Science celebrated the College Day and Freshers’ Day at the MJC Campus on Sep 27. The Chief Guest at the event was Dr. R.Karpagam, Principal, Kathir College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. 

After lighting the lamp ceremony, Dr. R.Karpagam gave a motivating speech which was much lauded by the students and MJC staff members and was considered as a high point of the event. 

In the event, students of the MJC Arts and Science College, who made our institution extremely proud by achieving University Ranks in 2017 were awarded. 

Subsequently, our meritorious teachers who have done outstanding work through out the year in mentoring and guiding the students were awarded.

To make the event more engaging and fun-filled, a cultural program consisting of several dance, song and drama performances was conducted.

The stage decor is always the cornerstone of an event of this kind. This year,  the amazing stage design and decoration for this event was entirely done by our Sabina Hostel students. This made the event much more interesting and special. 



Renaissance - 2017  MJC Cultural Festival


Like every year before, this year, our cultural festival - Renaissance was conducted on October 14 at the MJC Campus. Students from 13 colleges participated in the event with full energy and enthusiasm.

Inaugural Function

Air commodore GSPN Chowdary was our Chief Guest and Mrs. India Earth 2016 - Mrs. Jaya Mahesh was the Guest of honour. The event was also attended by our special guests Dr. Lalita Chowdary and Mr. Krishna Kumar Payal.

Various competitions on Dance, Music, Elocution, Rangoli and Mehandi were held in which, many students from the participating colleges competed.
